Big, black, vinyl CDs
This thing is just ridiculously fun. It works perfectly, the sound quality is excellent, and it’s probably the best turntable I’ve ever owned. I realize that for audiophiles, I might as well say I’m playing LPs with a Cheeto attached to a party hat; but from my standpoint, it’s a rock-solid, heavy turntable with a really well-balanced tonearm. Old, scratchy records sound remarkably clear, and all but the deepest gouges are ignored and left unskipped.
Should I start the midlife crisis now?
So as of today, I’m no longer in my 30s.

Nicolas Cage is a good sport
Brought Miranda’s Flat Stanley to the Daytona 500 yesterday. Got a number of Stanley-on-a-windshield, Stanley-in-Gilliland’s-pit, etc. shots. But this was kinda the winner of the day.
IE View 1.3.2 released

More Ancient Videography - "She Believes"
Since the last one has generated many amusing responses, another video clip from the same 1993 show at the Talkhouse: “She Believes”, again with the amazing Rich Lyles on guitar. I’d very nearly forgotten about this one; now I’m thinking I might play it Saturday night.

Pearl Roub, R.I.P.
My Grandmother died on Wednesday. She was ready, really ready – she’d made that clear. And she’d had 92 years of a life she was very happy about. That’s how it’s supposed to go, but it doesn’t seem to make any of it easier.
